Consultation over move of Post Office to a new location

Consultation: Proposal to move Oxshott Post Office

As part of the plans to redevelop 50 High Street, it is proposed to relocate the local Post Office to a new location: Oxshott Village Store (formerly Charnay Kitchens), where it used to be 40 years ago. The  move is subject to an official consultation by the Post Office. This can be accessed via www.postofficeviews.co.uk and entering the unique branch code 151023 in the search box in the top right hand corner.
While there is no stated threat of any closure, it is important to get a high level of community involvement in this consultation. This will demonstrate support for our local Post Office and thereby emphasise the need for its retention. It will also provide a mandate for the proposed move to new premises.
Consultation ends on 28 May 2024.

Next M25 closure
The M25 will be shut between junctions 9 and 10 between 10 and 13 May, in order to install a new bridge. National Highways are urging motorists to only travel “if absolutely necessary”.  Alternative routes will be longer than on the previous closure.

Phasing of pedestrian lights
We have been made aware that the new lights in the High Street have a much longer gap between pushing the call button and traffic lights turning to red. We are in touch with Surrey Highways to request this delay is reduced.
