Happy New Year and welcome to 2024! Oxshott has lots to look forward to and FEDORA will continue to busy themselves on your behalf, be it on roads, planning, or our green spaces. Our next newsletter will provide an update on the status of the Elmbridge Local Plan, which was submitted to the Secretary of State last year and is now subject to examination by an inspector.

FEDORA Membership for 2024

The Spring Edition of our New Look Magazine – we need a photo for our front cover!
Our thoughts are beginning to turn to the Spring edition of our magazine, and we have a request for any photographers amongst you. It will be difficult to better the amazing painting of Oxshott High Street that appeared on our Autumn 2023 edition, but…we are looking for a photo of Spring in Oxshott – recent or distant past – that could grace the cover of our next edition. If so, please send them to magazine@fedora.org.uk. Bragging rights for the one that we choose to grace our cover.

Oxshott Repair Cafe – Inaugural event Saturday 20th January 10:30-1:30, Danes Hill School. ALL WELCOME

We’d like to draw your attention to a great new initiative from Oxshott Net Zero. As mentioned in our Autumn Magazine, Oxshott is to get its very own version of ‘The Repair Shop’ – Oxshott Repair Café. Repair Cafés are springing up all around the world in an effort to reduce landfill waste by giving our faulty items a longer lease of life. The inaugural event will take place next Saturday. Take a look at the Oxshott Net Zero website for more details, sign an item up for repair, come learn a new skill, donate an old laptop to charity (Dons Local Action Group) or just come and enjoy the atmosphere. Refreshments, snacks and lunches available. This is a collaboration with Danes Hill School, who are providing the premises, catering and estates manpower; the Oxshott community are providing the repairers and many of you have kindly signed-up to help make this new venture a success.

Oxshott Christmas Spectacular 2023
We’d like to end this newsletter with a big thank you to James Davis, Peter Brodnicki and the Wolsey House Group for yet another fabulous Oxshott Christmas Spectacular, and our High Street Christmas lights, the envy of many local villages. Just take a look at this drone footage to get a feel for just how our community came out to support and enjoy the evening. Oxshott Christmas Spectacular 2023
