DOCTORS SURGERY NEXT STEPS – YOUR VILLAGE NEEDS YOU TO GET INVOLVED
In line with the project to build a new Doctors’ Surgery, on 19th December 2024 Oxshott residents will be provided the opportunity to elect eight Trustees to the board of the newly registered Oxshott Village Trust CIO.
STEP ONE – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO ACT AS TRUSTEES
Anyone is very welcome to put their names forward for election to the board. If elected, they will be expected to attend 6 meetings a year.
Valued skill sets might include:
- knowledge of building contracts
- understanding of project management board administration
- legal knowledge
- financial/accounting knowledge
- IT/website/communication skills to engage with the residents
– and of course common sense and a wish to be involved in the local issues that are currently dealt with by the Trust.
Any residents of Oxshott aged over 18 within the determined boundary can put their names forward. Up to 2 non-residents can also serve on the board. Candidates are invited to submit their names, and addresses, with a brief resume of interests /skill set by Thursday 12th December 2024.
Ballot papers will be prepared after eligibility is confirmed; this is why an address is necessary. Only the names and resumes of those applying will be on the website and displayed in the hall on internal and external noticeboards as from 13 December 2024.
STEP TWO – ELECTION OF TRUSTEES
The doors will be open at the Village Centre for Oxshott residents to cast their votes for the Trustees of the new Oxshott Village Trust CIO in two separate sessions on Thursday, 19th December 2024, 12 noon to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm.
All Oxshott residents attending will be given a ballot paper to elect 8 Trustees from those names are on the ballot paper. There will be an independent count and the results will be communicated through the website and local noticeboards after the meeting.
