NEW 30 MINUTES FREE PARKING ON STEELS LANE
We have been informed that with effect from the beginning of April 2025 new charges will
apply in the Steels Lane car park which will permit 30 minutes free parking. This is part of an
Elmbridge initiative to support greater use of local businesses in a number of villages in the
borough.
The Hare Lane and Torrington Lodge car parks in Claygate will also benefit from the new
arrangements. We understand that parking charges in Cobham will not be changed.
Drivers will need to obtain a ticket when they enter the car park to cover their 30 minute
stay, either from the Pay and Display machine or via RingGo. Use of RingGo has the benefit
of sending a reminder when the free 30 minutes is coming to an end, so you know when to
get back to your car and leave or purchase an additional period of parking.
GREEN BELT QUESTIONNAIRE – IMPORTANT
We have been fortunate in Oxshott to be surrounded by high-quality Green Belt land.
However, current government housing targets and Grey Belt policy now put that Green Belt
at risk of development.
FEDORA would now like your views on how it should best represent the interests of the
residents of Oxshott in the light of these new circumstances.
